On the ninth day of inbound…
If your house is anything like mine, you’re probably receiving a plethora of holiday cards and letters filling you in on everything your friends have been up to all year. I love getting caught up – but I’d much rather hear from people regularly instead of trying to cram it all into one long, sometimes boring, generic letter. My attention span is just not long enough to stay focused on too much information.
The same holds true for your clients, prospects and the media. Grab their attention with 9 press releases this year!
Why nine? Ideally, we’d say aim for one release per month but that can be a challenge for many organizations. It seems more realistic to publish two per quarter and maybe one more during the year for a really big announcement. The beauty of press releases is they can be relatively short, hit the main highpoints of an activity or topic and when shared on social media PR platforms like PitchEngine or PRWeb, gain visibility way beyond your standard media list.
What kind of releases should you share? Practically anything that could generate some interest. Things like:
- New products and services
- Updated products and services
- Promotional events
- Community involvement
- New hires
- Employee promotions
- New equipment installations or other capital investments
- New customers
- Safety achievements
Get the idea? It’s pretty likely there are PR-worthy events going on in your office or plant every week that don’t get the recognition they deserve. Plus, regularly publishing press releases boosts your SEO because it’s seen as fresh content and it keeps you in front of those you’re most interested in communicating with, just like your blog. In fact, most of these releases can and should be repurposed into blog posts.
