Video is transforming the way that sales interacts with leads. By using visually engaging and thoughtfully scripted video, a sales person can stand out in cluttered inboxes, bring their product to potential buyer’s screen, and create a meaningful connection. Here are four ways video is transforming how salespeople interact with their prospects.
Instead of writing a standard email introducing yourself and company, stand out in an inbox with video voicemail. The leads you are trying to reach are most likely receiving dozens of emails like yours, so make your message simple, visual, and engaging. Not only does video in email increase open rates by 19%, it also increases click-through rates by 200-300%. Finally, you can absolutely delight a lead by addressing them by name, making you memorable and trustworthy.

Allow your product or service to take center stage! Create a video demonstrating why your company is the clear choice for your lead. This can be done with a side by side comparison of your product and a competitor’s, a simple explainer video, or a tour of your facility. By turning the camera to your product and explaining its ins and outs, you can further cement trust and reliability with your lead.

When your lead is considering your product, they also have to consider your team. Your lead knows that signing on to your company means signing on to working with your people, so get the introductions out of the way before they even sign the bottom line! Feature the key folks they will be working with in a video and let them share who they are, what they’ll be doing for the client, and a few fun facts. Who knows, your team might have something significant in common with the lead. Something as simple as a favorite city, a former industry experience, or former school might resonate with your lead. This video will allow your lead to familiarize themselves with your people and your culture.

While the above videos may require a little more planning and production, you can still leverage video with out a huge production to help close the deal with your lead (in fact you can actually create quick video voicemails on the fly with Wistia Soapbox!). By continually using video in communication with your lead, you can maintain a level of thorough and friendly communication with them. This tactic will put you well on the road to becoming a trustworthy face in their inbox.
