We’re seeking a highly motivated person to serve as Web Development Manager for both internal and external web projects.

The Web Development Manager leads a team of Weidert Group in-house and outsource developers to build and continually enhance web projects, help build the company’s next generation platforms and web services, while serving as a technology leader with our clients and internal teams. This position reports to the Creative Director and works closely with the clients’ account managers and our Web Project Manager to address immediate and long-range client needs.

Job Description

The Web Development Manager will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

  • Develop and execute project plans; establish scope and target dates; facilitate & lead project meetings; provides ongoing communication on project status
  • Determine the best technologies to use for each project based on the client’s needs and goals
  • Analyze and report on project metrics, e.g., hours expended vs. hours estimated, project progress, risks and issues
  • Analyze data to identify trends in web traffic or usage patterns
  • Understand available and potential implementation techniques and propose the most appropriate approach
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new platforms and systems, both internal and external, that could be beneficial to the goals of clients and of Weidert Group
  • Develop key project documentation to ensure staff member(s) and/or Consultant(s) have a complete, shared understanding of what is needed to complete projects
  • Evaluate the performance of employees and provide feedback to help them improve their skills. Manage front and back end web developers (both in-house and outsourced) and work to ensure technical quality, product quality, and efficient use of resources
  • Establish standards for web development processes and procedures

Requirements

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION/TRAINING
  • Experience: 4 to 5 years of related experience, including 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong experience and understanding of HubSpot frontend and backend development
  • Experience managing successful web development teams
  • Diverse understanding of web development methodologies
  • Experience managing multiple projects comprising short and long development cycles without supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills ensuring zero ambiguity and clear direction in a manner suiting the audience
  • Strong intuition, judgment and superior analytical skills
  • Successful track record of managing projects, tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with project estimating, scheduling/planning and task management systems such as Accelo or Jira

  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to be persuasive and to confront issues (and potential issues) with tact
